If you're seeing error messages when trying to generate content, here's what they mean and how to fix them.

"Generation failed - Request check timed out (Refunded)"

What this means:
The generation took too long to process and was automatically canceled. Your dreamcoins are refunded automatically.

What to do:

  • Wait 2-3 minutes and try again

  • Your coins should already be back in your balance

  • If this happens repeatedly, try generating simpler content first

"Generation failed - Content policy violation"

What this means:
The generation was blocked because it violates our content policy.

What to do:

  • Review your prompt and remove any prohibited content

  • Check our content guidelines at https://ourdream.ai/profile

  • Try rephrasing your prompt more generally

  • Your coins ARE refunded for this error

"Generation failed - Server error"

What this means:
Something went wrong on our end. Sorry!

What to do:

  • Wait 5 minutes and try again

  • Your coins are automatically refunded

  • If it keeps happening, our team is likely already working on it

  • Check our Discord for service status updates

"Insufficient dreamcoins"

What this means:
You don't have enough coins for this generation.

What to do:

What happens to my coins when a generation fails?

Good news! When a generation fails, your dreamcoins are automatically refunded within a few minutes. You should see them back in your balance right away.

If you don't see your coins back after 15 minutes:

  1. Refresh your browser

  2. Check your balance at https://ourdream.ai/profile

  3. Log out and log back in

  4. If still missing, contact support with the timestamp

The generation failed but I wasn't refunded

This is rare, but if it happens:

  1. Wait 15 minutes

  2. Refresh your browser completely

  3. Check your generation history to confirm it failed

  4. Contact support with:

    • The time the generation failed

    • What you were trying to generate

    • Your current coin balance
